Nimbin CDAT in northern NSW recently launched a captivating educational tool around the safe handling of sharps.
Tailored for primary school children, the book fosters awareness and responsibility. With gender-neutral protagonists and a diverse cast, the book promotes inclusivity while teaching crucial safety lessons.
Through engaging storytelling, children learn the importance of sharps safety and are empowered to play an active role in safeguarding themselves and their communities.
North Coast Community Development Officer Josh is proud of the work the team has done for the community.
“The Team in Nimbin have done a great job of listening to their community needs and developing a suitable resource for educating young people on sharps safety, which is an aspect of AOD that we don’t always think of”, he said.
This innovative resource not only educates but also instils a sense of empowerment, equipping young readers with valuable skills to navigate various environments safely.
